Welcome and thank you for visiting the website of the Staff Development Centre (SDC) of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura(USJ).
SDC was founded in 2003 with the objective of uplifting the quality of staff, academic, administrative and academic support of the University.
Our mission is to enhance the capabilities of all employee categories of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura through well-designed continous training and development initiatives that use cutting-edge technology to ensure a high-quality workforce that unconditionally strives for the achievement of university vision and mission(to prosper lives through education) and has a well-balanced work and family life. The global landscape of higher education is changing at rapid pace. Some of the challenges the university academics face include publising in high-impact journals,using technology in teaching and mentoring students.Administrative and academic support staff also face numerous challenges.Hence, continous professional development is essential for all university staff
The SDC's main program is the Certificate in Teaching in Higher Education (CTHE ). So far,we have trained over 400 young academics from five different universities in Sri Lanka. In addition to CTHE, SDC provides an induction for all new recruits. Furthermore, the SDC provides numerous training program for all University employee categories. We want to keep our employees up-to-date on the latest technology. The SDC's overlarching goal is to help employees develop professionally and personally.

The Staff Development Centre (SDC) of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura is organizing a four half day workshop for Management Assistants of the University.
This workshop is scheduled to be held on 27th, 28th, 29th and 30th March 2023 (8.30 a.m. – 12.00 Noon) at the ITRC Multimedia Lab, Faculty of Management studies and Commerce. Participants who have not participated the previous workshop can register for this workshop till on or before 25th March at around 2.00 pm using the Google form available in the SDC website.
Kindly note that only 40 (forty) seats are available due to the capacity limitation at the ITRC.
